An Introduction

This being my first post, a little introduction and explanation is in order.

Many of you might already recognize me as the guy in the question-mark suits appearing in the late night TV commercials and on the cover of educational books and CDs. You may have even bought some of my products -- I hope you've gotten a lot of use out of them. I'm continually developing new ones, and you can keep up with them on my official site, www.lesko.com.

I'll also be using this blog to expound on a lot of the ideas and information I cover in my books and CDs. Hopefully you'll find some things of use -- whether you're looking for help with starting a new business, fixing your home (or buying a new one), affording health care, and a host of other topics.

But what really pushed me to explore this new mode of communication is my recent debacle with the New York Consumer Protection Board. On December 15, the board issued a press release based on a study about government grant scams -- and unfairly used me and my products to get publicity for it. The board has admitted that I've done nothing wrong, and that they aren't investigating me for anything. Yet they proceeded to make false and libelous statements about me. I've posted a fact sheet on my site that you can read here.

Their statements show a fundamental misunderstanding of my work and philosophy. The media has unfortunately (but not very surprisingly) been pretty unhelpful in all of this. The reporting is largely he said/she said, and doesn't do a great job of showing the whole situation for what it is.

So with this blog, I can take matters into my own hands. Consider it my constantly evolving letter to the editor, as well as an expansion of what I do day in and day out -- helping people make the most of the resources available to them.

Thanks for reading!

man this cool i just surf on it

Matthew Lesko is a true pioneer in the packaging and distribution of grant infomation. He has created awareness to government programs that many people did not know about.

Why don't these government officials get off his back. He is a great American icon that will be rememberd in history.

Keep fighting back. You are 100% in the right!

Thank you for the nice comments Bob.. A few little words like this that really help. Becuase I know how important words like this are to me, when I see people whose work I appreciate I always let them know it...

Mr. Lesko, I've been a fan for a long time . I bought 1 of you'r fist books . I DO NOT believe you are scamming people. KICK BUTT!!! Thank-you for the web site with free help. There just pissed because you made it were they really have to give the money awy now.I think you ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome to the blogosphere, Mr. Lesko. I hope this medium serves your purpose well. I look forward to reading what you have to say.

I am new to blogs. I hope it helps me to communicate a lot more of what I know about using and accessing government programs. The attack by the CPB really showed me how I now know more about government programs than most governemnt offices because I've been studying them for over 25 years.

This reminds me of when my name got randomly slapped in the Dispatches section of the local newspaper as having been detained by the police for "disturbing the peace by dropping flowerpots off of Pliny's Brickworks". That was kind of surreal, and I still don't know how it happened, though the flowerpot-dropping seems to be a reference to a certain Atari game...

Anyhow, enjoy getting your revenge and whatnot. Also, I hereby offer my services as Incredibly Geeky Person if you ever need any assistance with the technical side of blogging -- I don't have enough to do.

There's a big difference between a bird on LSD, and just your ordinary gold brick outfit.

Sir,

I've been blogging for a few years, as my link will attest. Like Tgies, I can offer my techie background to you.

Sounds like the NYS judicial system continues to run amuck...

I am very concerned about a guy who claims to be a consumer watchdog. But who watches the watchdog? At least one site exposes the truth behind self styled consumer watchdog, Ed Magedson, to reveal his true interest lies in increasing his own bank account. This unscrupulous criminal uses his bully pulpit to issue outright threats to coerce legitimate business owners to pay-up for a favorable report. You can see all the evidence and decide the truth for yourself.

I have been reading various threads on the different forums regarding this guy, Ed Magedeson, and have a hard time understanding why anyone would defend him and am puzzled by their position. My gawd, there is a plethora of evidence indicating this guy is less than a stellar citizen. On the contrary, he is the poster child for self aggrandizement and the purveyor of self enrichment at the expense of ethics and truth.

First of all, he has judgments against him. This is money he legally owes to people and refuses, with impunity, to pay. If he owed YOU money due to a judicial rendering I am sure you would be clamoring for your due. It is also apparent from the available information, from reliable sources, that he associates with known criminal elements. This, in conjunction with his undisclosed business location and refusal to allow posting of opinions contrary to his own or to allow business owners to post in defense of their business practices leads me to give greater credence to the accusations by those whom he attacks.
So, in closing, let me reiterate: I wonder how anyone can continue to defend this man and his company. For more information a company has set up a site to try and counter some of the false accusations and manufactured complaints.

Dear Mr. Lesko,

God bless you, truly.

I just bought your premium package for $150.00 tonight from www.howtogetagrant.com...plus i ordered 3 day shipping...
because I could not wait..lol. :)

i ordered a smaller package the day before from www.federalgrantsource.com for $33.00...but i had trouble accessing the website...after i paid the money on my credit card. I next contacted the email on the website...and received a prompt friendly response the next day with a link. but...the new link that i was sent in my email was equally worthless...as the webpage link just spun and spun...but never loaded so i could access the electronic info at www.federalgrantsource.com
If you could please help me, i would appreciate it. the lady on the phone said i could call the customer service number at 1-800-955-7693 to cancel my first order of $33.00.

I also noticed some of the chat on the blog when i first vistied the website.

The reason all the government officials want to keep you quiet...is because they are greedy dogs...lol. :) the more money that the public justly accesses...the less money they have to unjustly access.

you say you have been in washington, dc for 25 years? well, about 15 years ago, a whistleblower in the GSA, general services adminimistration, blew the whistle on a government agency that buried about $2billion worth of army equipment and supplies in a big hole in the desert...so that they could give a government supplier a big economic boost by having to refill the "depleted" stocks that were in the army warehouse out west...lol.

well...after that dude testified in front of congress, the some of the dirty bastard politicians got the IRS on his case over some nothing crap...then they ruined his credit...then they pulled out a bunch of skeletons out of his closet...and he wound up losing his house...etc...all for doing the right thing.

so...you have not exposed dirt on them...but be careful around these types...cuz they just setting traps all around you...just hoping you make a "legal" mistake.

i think what you are doing is great. God bless you, truly.
you helped me...financially...now i'll help you...spiritually.

some things to think about...

the old roman saying...if the guards are guarding the city, then who will guard the guards?

and also...just because you ARE paranoid, does NOT mean that they are NOT out to get you...lol.

Dear Mr. Lesko,

I think that what you are doing is great. you have probably already made your money...and so if you are just trying to help others...and if you get benefitted in the process...if it is God's Will, then why not?

The Bible truly says, "The Love of money is the root of all evil."

not money of itself.

King Solomon also said the wealth of the earth is for all..."even the king is fed from the field."

and that is the truth...some people do not know...how to access public funds...they are mostly ignorant...or busy under the gun...so to speak...working to make ends meet and keep the wolf from the door.

how some corrupt officials rip off taxpayer money and use it for their own selfish ends is appauling, but the danger with looking only to government (ie "we the people") people fall right into the hands of evil corrupt people in government...who under the guise of helping people...turn the hearts of men and women from God and Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, alone...to trusting corrupt men and women...who do not have "we the people" 's best interests at heart.

I would like to set up a blog for a non-profit that truly advocates for true widows and orphans...not just a bunch of government named programs that on the surface read something like..."the federal bereau of widows and orpans"...but in reality 75 per cent of the money goes to the founders...and 20 per cent goes to under pay unqualified staff...and maybe 5 per cent goes to the widows and orphans that could really use the money.

The Bible also says in James that "the worker's wages are held back by fraud" (ie minimum wage) then the "stolen" money is "hidden" behind a maze of government forms that the public is mostly unaware of.

it is kind of like when Martin Luther translated The Bible from Latin into German...freely giving The Truth to all...thereby the Catholics...both devout and corrupt...no longer had a monopoly on The Truth...the commom people could now decide to believe and love and worship God and Christ Jesus, alone for themselves...or sadly...God forbid...or not.

Jesus Christ saves all
and he doesn't use a bank.
Save with Lord Jesus.

I can't tell you how glad I am that you have a blog! I have been getting quite a few criticism because I know that grants do exist. I'm sure you can identify with the "there are no government grants to start a business" comments.

I find that a LOT of people want the information BUT they don't want to search for it!
